2024 marks 90 years since the government decision to finance the transformation of Pedion tou Areos into a "common Athens Grove".

On September 6, the biggest Book Festival "opens its gates" at Pedion tou Areos to welcome book lovers and attract new readers.

The biggest celebration of the Book is coming to Pedion tou Areos from September 6 to 22. After the very successful return of the Festival last year to its historic venue, our Park is preparing to welcome book lovers from all over Athens and beyond, to a Festival full of small-scale art and culture events.

Urban planning is the design of cities, streets, and spaces. It is the collaborative and interdisciplinary process of shaping the physical environment to create functional spaces for people to live, work, and play.

Pedion tou Areos is the largest urban green space within the boundaries of the Municipality of Athens. Its entire area is covered with artificial vegetation with horticultural designs, while it also has entertainment facilities for citizens, including playgrounds and restaurants.
